Know Your LGBT History - Alan Turing

Alan Turing was one of the greatest scientists of all time. He is considered to be the father of computer science and artificial intelligence. It was his intelligence which helped the Allies defeat the Nazis during World War II. And what was his reward? Disgrace and suicide simply because he was gay. Never forget our heroes.

Alan Turings name is the first one I use when someone asks me the inevitable question "Well what have the GAYS ever contributed to society?" Without him and his ingenious ability to crack dman near any nazi code, the allies won the war. Without Turing, it can be easily argued that WWII would have gone on for YEARS longer than it actually did.

Yet another example the the Religious right ignores on how A) Gay people have made a huge tangible difference in the world. and B) How their hatred and evil made so many of our less fortunate brothers and sisters lives into living hells.

Thankfully, what is said at the end of the obviously quite old interview is now inaccurate. As of 2012 Alan Turing now has a memorial, which I believe is on the campus of Manchester University -- a fitting homage.

Oh look, a Captcha. Based on the Turing test. How ironic.
